Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City on May 10, 2026, marking a significant milestone for industrial development in Telangana.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy has highlighted the transformative potential of this initiative, stating that it will catalyse next-generation industrial expansion and bolster the state's manufacturing sector.

Spanning 3,245 acres with a total investment of ₹2,360.54 crore, the project forms part of the larger Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor. Central government officials project that the venture could mobilise investments surpassing ₹10,000 crore and create approximately 1.74 lakh employment opportunities by 2029.

The smart city has been conceived as a comprehensive industrial ecosystem featuring cutting-edge infrastructure and sector-specific growth strategies. Priority sectors identified for development include logistics, automotive components, non-metallic minerals, electrical and electronics manufacturing, machinery production, metals processing, and food processing industries.

The development incorporates smart infrastructure powered by contemporary technological solutions, with sustainability and environmental responsibility embedded into its planning framework. Companies will have access to ready-to-use industrial facilities designed for immediate operational deployment. Beyond industrial zones, the project encompasses residential neighbourhoods, commercial establishments, educational institutions, and skill development centres.

Kishan Reddy underscored the locational advantage of the site along the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor, positioning it as a prospective epicentre for manufacturing and logistics operations. He noted that the Centre remains committed to advancing industrial corridor initiatives nationwide, reinforcing India's competitive standing in global manufacturing markets.
