Dr Gayatri Palat Receives Yudhvir Foundation Award for Palliative Care Leadership

Hyderabad: Dr Gayatri Palat is set to receive the prestigious Yudhvir Foundation award in recognition of her dedicated work in palliative care and her commitment to easing the suffering of patients facing serious illnesses.
The ceremony will take place on April 30 at KLN Prasad Auditorium, FTCCI, Red Hills, where Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will formally confer the honour. The award comprises a citation and a monetary component of ₹1 lakh.
An MD degree holder, Dr Palat has earned recognition for her sustained efforts in enhancing the quality of care provided to individuals with serious medical conditions. Her work has been instrumental in advancing palliative care practices while providing comprehensive support to both patients and their families.
The Yudhvir Foundation established this award as part of its broader mission to celebrate individuals whose work advances social service and human development.

The foundation itself was established on April 10, 1991, as a tribute to the late Yudhvir, a prominent journalist and social worker whose life was marked by significant contributions to public service. His work encompassed national integration, cultural preservation, and social welfare initiatives.
Through its programmes, the foundation seeks to promote these ideals and recognise achievers in diverse domains including literature, social service, and public welfare. The foundation's governing body comprises Aruna Bahuguna in the role of Chairperson, alongside trustees Amer Ali Khan, Tarun Kumar Jhawar, Nitin Bajaj, and Vipma Vir.
The 33rd iteration of the Yudhvir Foundation award upholds the institution's enduring tradition of honouring exceptional contributions across various spheres of human achievement.
