Women Can Excel Across All Sectors with Proper Support, Says Labour Minister at Empowerment Conference

Hyderabad: Women possess the capacity to accomplish remarkable feats in virtually any domain provided they are given the platform and backing to do so, according to Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy, the state's Minister for Labour, Employment, Training, Factories and Mines.

The minister voiced this perspective while speaking at a women's empowerment conference that marked the establishment of the India Chapter of the Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) at the Jubilee Hills Convention Centre on Wednesday. The gathering drew substantial participation from female professionals, students, and other attendees keen on exploring career prospects and recognizing the contributions of women in rural communities.

WETA Founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy spearheaded the event's organization. The occasion also saw the presence of Ministers Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Adluri Laxman, alongside various other officials.

Recognition for institutional support structures

Dr. Venkatswamy commended WETA and similar organizations for establishing spaces where women can receive assistance and develop their potential. He stressed that such efforts merit expansion to fortify women's standing in economic, social, and political spheres. He highlighted that women have already demonstrated their capabilities across education, employment, business ventures, administrative roles, and public office.

The minister drew particular attention to the trajectory of WETA's founder, characterizing her path as a testament to perseverance and personal advancement. Beginning her adult life as a homemaker, she eventually built a thriving enterprise, launched WETA in the United States, and subsequently brought the organization's reach to India—a narrative that exemplifies what becomes possible when communities extend appropriate assistance to women.

Dr. Venkatswamy also recognized other prominent female leaders, including Yashaswini Reddy, who have transitioned from domestic responsibilities into active roles in public affairs. Their accomplishments, he noted, reflect how women can earn community confidence and underscore the necessity for enhanced female representation in governance and policy-making bodies.

Family encouragement remains pivotal

Emphasizing women's indispensable role in advancing social welfare, the minister asserted that genuine inclusive development remains unattainable without meaningful female participation. Drawing from his personal experience, he observed that women within his own family have flourished in academics, professional fields, and commercial enterprises.

He called upon households to honor the dedication, labor, and aspirations of their women members, underscoring that male relatives' encouragement constitutes a critical factor in women's advancement. The voices of women who simultaneously maintain households and contribute meaningfully to their communities warrant greater visibility and respect, he contended.

Self-assurance paired with resolve, according to the minister, equips women to surmount any challenge they encounter. He concluded by expressing optimism that the initiatives undertaken by the WETA India Telangana Chapter would yield tangible benefits for women, adolescent girls, and students across the region. He extended his congratulations to Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, the organizing committee, and the broader WETA membership.
