Woman and Son Arrested in Chintal for Murder of Live-in Partner

A shocking case of murder has come to light in Hyderabad's Chintal locality, sending waves of alarm through the residential neighbourhood.

Authorities have taken into custody a woman and her son in connection with the death of a man who had shared their residence for a decade. The victim, identified as Shivareddy, 40, hailed from Annamayya district in Andhra Pradesh and had been residing with the woman at Ambedkar Nagar in Chintal, where her son also lived.

Events of Sunday Night

The incident unfolded on Sunday evening when tensions escalated into violence within the household. Investigators believe that during the altercation, the woman and her son attacked Shivareddy with a meat-cutting knife, resulting in his death. The accused then allegedly concealed the body in a sack with the intention of disposing of it under the cover of darkness.

Discovery During Night Patrol

The crime came to light when officers from Jeedimetla Police Station, conducting routine midnight patrols in the area, observed the suspects behaving in a suspicious manner. Upon stopping them for verification, the police discovered the blood-stained body concealed within the sack, leading to the immediate apprehension of both individuals.

Investigation Underway

The body has been transferred to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem procedures. Police have registered a formal case and launched their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder. Preliminary inquiries suggest that ongoing conflicts and alleged mistreatment may have been contributing factors to the tragic incident.

The case has sparked considerable unease among residents of the Chintal area, a busy locality that has now become the focus of police attention.
