Woman Murdered Over Property Dispute in Suryapet District

A fatal property dispute has shaken Atmakur(S) mandal in Suryapet district, Telangana, after a woman was allegedly killed by her younger brother on Monday morning.
Surugi Anjamma, a widow without children who had been residing in her native village with her younger sister, became the victim of the violent attack. Sources close to the family indicated that Anjamma had decided to hand over her two acres of land to her younger sister, citing the latter's devoted care and support over the years.
This decision appears to have ignited tensions with Anjamma's younger brother, who stood to be excluded from the property succession. Investigators suspect the brother may have orchestrated the attack with the intention of securing control of the disputed land for himself.
The tragedy unfolded around 6:45 am as Anjamma made her way to participate in drought relief work. Her brother allegedly approached from behind and attacked her with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Law enforcement personnel arrived at the location following reports of the assault and initiated a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing. Authorities are currently gathering additional information about the nature of the property dispute and examining the evidence related to the murder case. The incident has sparked concern within the local community.
