The Anti-Corruption Bureau apprehended a Revenue Inspector in Warangal district on Thursday following allegations that he solicited a Rs 10,000 bribe to facilitate property mutation proceedings.

Gattikopula Rambabu, posted at the Tahsildar Office in Duggondi Mandal, was accused of demanding the sum from a resident to execute a site inspection, prepare a verification report, and complete the mutation documentation, according to ACB officials.

The matter came to the attention of authorities when the individual lodged a complaint with the ACB, prompting investigators to conduct a sting operation. During the operation, officials recovered the bribe amount from Rambabu's possession.

The ACB contended that Rambabu exploited his administrative authority to extract improper personal benefit from the complainant. Following his arrest, he was produced before the Special Judge handling ACB and Special Police Establishment cases in Warangal.

The complainant's identity has been kept confidential by the agency to ensure personal safety. The investigation into the matter remains active, officials confirmed.
