Hyderabad: Telangana's Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy presided over a series of development and welfare programmes across Sangareddy district, with particular focus on Patancheru.

During the events, the minister laid foundation stones for road construction and development projects totalling approximately Rs 8 crore in Bhanur village, located in Patancheru mandal. He also announced that the second phase of the Indiramma housing initiative would commence distribution from June 2.

Speaking to attendees, Vivek Venkatswamy highlighted how the Congress government was working to realise home ownership aspirations for economically disadvantaged households through the Indiramma scheme. He noted that the government had allocated 3,500 houses for each Assembly constituency.

The minister underscored the government's commitment to expanding access to welfare programmes, stating that ration cards were being issued to all eligible families to facilitate their participation in these schemes. He further disclosed that new pension allocations would be sanctioned beginning June 2.

Vivek Venkatswamy committed to addressing infrastructure gaps in Patancheru, pledging that authorities would undertake the widening of congested roads. He indicated that the Roads and Buildings Department would soon initiate road expansion efforts following necessary consultations.

The minister paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's role in establishing institutions across the Medak region, and acknowledged the legacies of veteran political figures Kaka Venkataswamy and T. Anjaiah. He unveiled a portrait of T. Anjaiah and offered floral respects during the ceremony.

A significant project unveiled during the visit was the foundation stone for bituminous road works connecting Patancheru to Bhanur village, backed by an allocation of Rs 8.30 crore. The minister subsequently inaugurated development initiatives valued at Rs 15 crore each across five municipalities—Isnapur, Indresham, Jinnaram, Gummadidala, and Gaddapotharam—implemented under the Urban Development Scheme.

The minister's tour also included participation in an Indiramma Housing housewarming ceremony at Solakpalli village in Jinnaram mandal. Before concluding his visits, he laid the foundation stone for additional classroom facilities at the KGBV school in Jinnaram.
