Hyderabad — Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Vivek Venkatswamy has called on nursing trainees participating in the Triple Win Programme to prioritize German language proficiency and communication abilities as they prepare for careers abroad.

Speaking at an event held by TOMCOM at Tourism Plaza on Tuesday, Venkatswamy highlighted that young professionals from Telangana possess considerable capacity to succeed on the world stage, provided they embrace cultural adaptation with commitment and self-assurance.

While Germany presents substantial career prospects for healthcare workers, the Minister acknowledged that such opportunities come with the requirement to navigate a new linguistic landscape, workplace customs, and social environment. Nevertheless, he maintained that sustained effort and determination can enable individuals to overcome these challenges.

"Nurses are instrumental in instilling confidence and reassurance in patients. A significant portion of recovery begins with the comfort that nurses provide," Venkatswamy remarked, underscoring the importance of the nursing profession.

The Minister noted that TOMCOM is developing employment avenues that meet international standards for Telangana's youth, characterizing the current initiative as a foundation for broader opportunities. He emphasized that strong performance by the current cohort in Germany would pave the way for increased international placements for the state's workforce in the coming years.

Marking International Nurses Day, Venkatswamy designated nursing as among the most honourable professions. He stressed that trainees must commit seriously to German language acquisition, emphasizing that effective communication is fundamental to delivering quality healthcare and administering medication safely.

Drawing on his entrepreneurial background, the Minister recounted how he began his business venture with Rs. 5 lakh and encountered obstacles when attempting to secure financing from a Chennai-based bank due to language barriers. This experience, he explained, demonstrated the critical value of linguistic competence and communication proficiency in professional advancement.

Citing actor Vijay as an illustration, Venkatswamy suggested that digital platforms, modern technology, and strong communication abilities can facilitate extraordinary professional achievements. He urged participants to dedicate at least one hour each day to skill development, with the ultimate goal of becoming fluent enough to read German literature independently.

The Minister disclosed that the state government has earmarked dedicated budget allocations for TOMCOM programmes. He also pledged to raise with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy the possibility of establishing additional nursing colleges and expanding nursing course seats throughout Telangana.

Labour, Employment and Training Commissioner Harichandana shared her personal experience learning Hindi and encouraged the trainees to practice German conversationally with peers during leisure hours.

"You must invest effort in mastering a new language. The state administration, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Minister Venkatswamy are implementing targeted programmes to generate overseas employment for our young people," she stated.

TOMCOM Director Kanthi Wesley reported that the organization has entered into a formal agreement with Germany's Federal Employment Agency. To date, 46 nurses have completed German language training, 15 have secured employment offers, and seven are presently employed in Germany.
