Hyderabad: The Telangana government is set to establish a governing body for the Vishwa Brahmana Vishwakarma Corporation and roll out welfare measures for the community, according to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud.

At a gathering held at Gandhi Bhavan, representatives from the Telangana State Vishwa Brahmana Vishwakarma Matru Sangham presented a memorandum detailing the economic challenges confronting community members. They called on the administration to deliver prompt institutional backing and welfare schemes.

The association highlighted that approximately 16 lakh people from the community reside throughout Telangana. They emphasized how traditional livelihoods connected to the community have deteriorated significantly over the past decade, with the growth of corporate sectors eroding artisan-based work and creating widespread joblessness and financial strain.

Mahesh Kumar Goud reaffirmed that the Congress government remains dedicated to advancing the interests of communities facing social, economic, and political marginalization. He pledged that the Vishwa Brahmana Vishwakarma community would receive its rightful allocation of government assistance.

The delegation, led by State Association president Dr. Vemulawada Madanmohan, honorary president Dr. Lalukota Venkatachari, and general secretary Brahmasri Cholleti Krishnamacharyulu, along with other officials, raised concerns about numerous unresolved grievances that have persisted for decades.

Community representatives stressed that the lack of formal institutional support has undermined the livelihoods of craftspeople and workers reliant on heritage professions. They requested the state administration to expedite the release of welfare allocations and establish the corporation's governing council.

Goud assured the delegation that the government would review their proposals and proceed with establishing the governing body for the corporation.
