Hyderabad: M. Venkaiah Naidu, the former Vice President of India, attended a memorial gathering in Hyderabad on Saturday to honour the life and work of Dr. G.N. Naidu, the founder of Regency Ceramics and a prominent industrialist.

The event was held at the Jubilee Hills Convention Centre, where Naidu reflected on his long association with the entrepreneur and his pivotal role in advancing India's industrial landscape.

In his remarks, Venkaiah Naidu characterized G.N. Naidu not merely as a businessman, but as a visionary engineer whose contributions extended far beyond commercial success. He highlighted how the industrialist had pursued advanced education during a period when such opportunities were scarce, ultimately establishing himself as an entrepreneur dedicated to the nation's development.

Venkaiah Naidu emphasized the obstacles that confronted G.N. Naidu during his early years as an entrepreneur, noting that India's industrial infrastructure was comparatively underdeveloped at that time. Despite these constraints, the industrialist built enterprises capable of producing goods that could hold their own in international markets.

According to Venkaiah Naidu, G.N. Naidu maintained a philosophy that business must serve society's interests rather than merely accumulate wealth. The industrialist demonstrated this commitment through concrete actions: he generated employment for thousands of workers and established educational facilities to serve underprivileged students.

Venkaiah Naidu concluded that G.N. Naidu's life story and accomplishments would serve as an enduring source of inspiration for generations to come. He expressed confidence that younger entrepreneurs and leaders would embrace the values of vision and public service that defined the industrialist's career.
