Congress MP Demands Education Minister's Resignation Over NEET Leak and CBSE Evaluation Issues

Hyderabad: Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna has intensified criticism of the Modi government's handling of education matters, calling on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign following the NEET examination scandal and reported deficiencies in CBSE Class 12 evaluation procedures.

In remarks issued on Monday, the Congress legislator underscored the widespread impact of the NEET paper leak, which has disrupted the academic preparations of hundreds of thousands of students across the country.

Vamsi Krishna questioned whether Pradhan retains the credibility to hold his ministerial position given the gravity of the situation. "It is truly shameful that such a situation has come to the youth of India. I am requesting that you resign immediately," the MP stated.

Beyond the NEET controversy, Vamsi Krishna flagged additional concerns regarding the CBSE's digital assessment system. He pointed to persistent technical problems, including degraded scans of answer sheets, software failures in the revaluation mechanism, and unexpectedly depressed scores that students have reported. These complications, he argued, threaten to jeopardize students' pathways to higher education.

The lawmaker launched a broader attack on the central government's management of educational governance. He accused the Prime Minister and the Education Ministry of "playing with the lives of students" and criticized what he characterized as the administration's intolerant stance toward dissent, suggesting that critics are frequently labeled as "anti-national."

Vamsi Krishna emphasized that successive examination-related controversies have eroded confidence in the integrity of national-level testing systems. Both students and families, he contended, are increasingly skeptical about the dependability and impartiality of these mechanisms.

The Congress MP called for immediate government action to restore accountability and transparency in examination administration. He urged the Education Ministry to tackle the technical complications and assessment-related problems that continue to affect student outcomes and to rebuild faith among students and parents in the fairness and integrity of the examination process.
