Chennai — Marking another milestone in its extensive racing heritage, TVS Racing has completed the Training & Selection Program for the 2026 TVS India One Make Championship (OMC). The program, which took place across four Indian cities, underscores the company's dedication to discovering and developing the nation's emerging racing talent.
The final selection rounds occurred from May 15 through May 17, 2026 at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai. The initiative drew more than 120 hopefuls across distinct categories: Women, Media, Rookie, Electric, and TVS Apache RR310 Expert divisions.
The TVS India One Make Championship has established itself as a premier platform for rider development in India, combining professional racing experience with systematic training to strengthen the country's motorsport base and expand opportunities for competitive racing among ambitious riders.
This year carries particular importance as the TVS Apache marks two decades of performance-oriented engineering, grounded in TVS Racing's 'Track to Road' philosophy. The company applies insights gained from competitive racing directly to motorcycle design and rider preparation for professional motorsport endeavours.
The selection process involved comprehensive training and assessment by TVS Racing specialists, emphasizing riding fundamentals, consistency, track awareness, performance metrics, and strict adherence to safety protocols and competitive standards.
Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, reflected on the program's completion: "The TVS India One Make Championship has consistently aimed to build racers within a structured, professional racing framework. We nurture riders throughout their racing progression—from newcomers and emerging prospects to seasoned competitors at national and international stages. The 2026 program's completion demonstrates our enduring commitment to democratizing motorsport and cultivating India's future racing champions across all divisions. By providing expert guidance, tactical racing instruction and track-level competition, TVS Racing creates a methodical pathway for riders to progressively advance their abilities, gain practical racing experience and progress into elite motorsport categories. This program has proven instrumental in broadening motorsport participation and fostering an inclusive racing community throughout India."
TVS Racing established the India One Make Championship in 1994, pioneering a structured and accessible racing platform for aspiring competitors. Over the past three decades, the championship has educated and guided more than 4,000 racers, positioning it among India's most impactful rider development initiatives with emphasis on safety, competitive discipline and professional experience.
Founded in 1982 as India's pioneer factory racing operation, TVS Racing has accumulated numerous victories across road racing, rallying, and supercross disciplines, profoundly shaping the nation's motorsport evolution. Through its 30-year operation since 1994, the India OMC has constructed one of India's most sophisticated rider development systems, providing a clear progression from foundational training to elite competitive racing through its Rookie, Women, Media, Electric, and Expert classifications. TVS Racing's consistent performance at the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship, including repeated manufacturer and team titles, exemplifies its standing as a developer of competitive racing talent.
The program prioritizes sourcing racing potential from diverse regions, encouraging heightened involvement from female riders and contemporary competitors, and bolstering India's motorsport infrastructure via systematic preparation and specialized coaching from TVS Racing professionals. The platform equally strengthens connections with the performance riding sector and builds momentum for racing culture nationally, reinforcing brand loyalty among those passionate about high-performance riding.
