Hinduja Family Secures Fifth Consecutive Year at Top of UK Wealth Rankings

The Hinduja family, helming the 111-year-old Hinduja Group conglomerate, has maintained its position as Britain's wealthiest family with a net worth of £38 billion, marking five consecutive years at the pinnacle of The Sunday Times Rich List.

The annual ranking, which catalogues approximately 350 of the United Kingdom's most affluent individuals and families, reflects the family's sustained financial dominance despite turbulent global economic conditions and regulatory transformations. Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja continue to lead the multinational enterprise that has become synonymous with diversified business success.

The Hinduja Group traces its foundational ethos to the vision of Late Shri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, whose guiding principle—"My Dharma is to work so that I can give"—remains embedded in the conglomerate's operational philosophy. This approach seeks to harmonise commercial expansion with broader societal contributions encompassing employment creation, infrastructural advancement, and community welfare initiatives.

Operating across 38 nations, the Hinduja Group maintains significant interests spanning mobility, digital technology, banking, financial services, media, project development, lubricants, specialty chemicals, energy, real estate, trading, and healthcare sectors. In recent months, the group has intensified its strategic engagement with India's electric vehicle transition, channelling investments into charging infrastructure networks and positioning itself within the sustainability-driven innovation landscape.

Philanthropic endeavours form a cornerstone of the family's broader agenda. Through the Hinduja Foundation, the family directs resources toward education, healthcare advancement, rural development initiatives focused on sustainability, and water conservation programmes across multiple geographies.

The 2026 rankings position several other prominent wealth creators in the upper echelons: the Reuben brothers and family at £27.971 billion, Sir Leonard Blavatnik with £26.852 billion, Idan Ofer commanding £24.481 billion, the Weston family at £18.939 billion, Christopher Harborne with £18.177 billion, Nik Storonsky at £16.411 billion, Alex Gerko with £16.006 billion, Sir Jim Ratcliffe holding £15.194 billion, and Igor and Dmitry Bukhman at £14.26 billion.
