Telangana Raises Age Ceiling for Assistant Scientist Recruitment

Hyderabad — The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has announced a significant adjustment to recruitment eligibility criteria, raising the maximum age requirement for the Assistant Scientist (Analyst Grade-II) position at the Telangana Pollution Control Board to 44 years from the previous ceiling of 34 years.
The decision, communicated through a formal press statement on May 20, 2026, came in response to Government Order No. 86 released by the General Administration (Services-A) Department on May 18, 2026. The order was initially referenced in TGPSC's Notification No. 01/OG/PC/2026, dated April 20, 2026.
The ten-year increase to the age cap applies to direct recruitment processes for this analyst-level position. The Commission has clarified that prospective candidates falling within the expanded age range are now eligible to participate in the ongoing recruitment drive.
In line with the government order, TGPSC has confirmed that existing age concessions prescribed under G.O.Ms. No. 86 will remain in effect for qualifying candidates. The notification was formally issued by the Additional Secretary of TGPSC, with the announcement originating from the state capital.
