TELUS Digital and IIT Roorkee Join Forces to Boost Tech Innovation and Talent Development
TELUS Digital, a prominent provider of customer experience and artificial intelligence-driven digital solutions globally, has forged a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, establishing a framework for collaborative advancement in research, innovation, and technology talent development.
The agreement between the two organizations aims to strengthen the bridge between academic research and practical industry applications while cultivating a robust ecosystem of skilled professionals prepared for the evolving digital economy.
Parag Vishnoi, Global Vice President of Digital Services at TELUS Digital, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, noting that IIT Roorkee stands among India's leading research and technology institutions. He emphasized that the partnership would enable the company to combine rigorous academic knowledge with large-scale real-world transformation initiatives, fostering accelerated progress in artificial intelligence and digital engineering while developing a talent base equipped to navigate the increasingly complex global marketplace.
Prof. K.K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, expressed satisfaction with the engagement, underscoring its potential to strengthen the interface between institutional research and industry practice. He noted that the collaboration would expose students and researchers to practical challenges within emerging technology sectors, equipping them with competencies essential for leadership in the rapidly transforming digital sphere.
Kapil Uniyal, Vice President for Digital Solutions across the Asia-Pacific and Australia regions at TELUS Digital, will oversee the company's campus engagement initiatives in India as executive sponsor of the partnership.
The collaborative framework encompasses multiple avenues for student involvement, including internship placements, mentoring programs, specialized lectures, skill-building workshops, and structured career development pathways. By facilitating direct engagement between students and industry experts alongside exposure to active transformation initiatives, the partnership seeks to equip graduates with the capabilities demanded by the contemporary global digital landscape.
Vishnoi, himself an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, recently served as the principal guest at the institution's flagship career and leadership summit, COMET'26, held on April 9-10, 2026. During his address to students, he underscored that professional advancement emerges from intellectual curiosity, meaningful contribution, and collaborative engagement. His participation underscores TELUS Digital's dedication to maintaining substantive connections with premier educational institutions and identifying emerging technology professionals.
