Telangana Opens Recruitment for TG RERA Chairperson Following Resignation

The Telangana government has launched a recruitment drive to fill the position of chairperson at the Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG RERA). A notification released on Friday marks the formal start of the selection process.

Candidates interested in the role are required to submit their applications and accompanying documentation by June 8. All submissions should be directed to the office of the Special Chief Secretary, Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department.

The vacancy arose following the resignation of Dr N. Satyanarayana, a former IAS officer, who stepped down citing health concerns. In the interim, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department has assumed additional responsibilities to manage the authority's operations until a permanent appointment is finalised.

Eligibility and Compensation

The government has outlined specific qualifications for prospective applicants. Candidates must have previously served as an Additional Secretary at either the Central or State government level, or held an equivalent post.

A minimum of 20 years of professional experience is mandatory. Relevant domains encompass urban development, housing, real estate, infrastructure, economics, planning, law, commerce, accountancy, and public administration.

The selected individual will be appointed for a tenure of up to five years, though this will terminate earlier if the appointee reaches 65 years of age.

The position offers a monthly remuneration of Rs 1.50 lakh, supplemented by a house rent allowance of Rs 50,000. Vehicle facilities will be provided in accordance with government rules.

Selection Process

A committee chaired by the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court will evaluate all submitted applications. The committee's role involves assessing qualified candidates and recommending the most suitable individual for the appointment.

According to legal professionals, the complete selection process is anticipated to extend beyond one month.
