Telangana Additional CEO Pushes for Faster Voter Mapping in Nampally Constituency

Hyderabad: In a bid to accelerate voter registration efforts, Telangana's Additional Chief Electoral Officer V. Venkateshwar Reddy convened a review meeting at the Electoral Registration Officer's office to assess the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter mapping initiative in the Nampally Assembly constituency.
Participants in the meeting included Electoral Registration Officer T. Dasarath, multiple Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officer supervisors, and field workers. The Deputy Commissioner of Masab Tank, Assistant Municipal Commissioners, and the Assistant City Planner also attended the session.
During the review, Venkateshwar Reddy stressed the importance of linking all eligible voters from the 2025 electoral roll with the 2002 voter list as part of the SIR programme. He highlighted concerns about the sluggish pace of mapping work in urban constituencies and directed Booth Level Officers to intensify their efforts through door-to-door campaigns to gather voter information more efficiently.
The Additional CEO also urged officials to seek cooperation from Booth Level Agents representing political parties and to engage with Residential Welfare Associations to facilitate the process. He instructed teams to identify and flag deceased voters, duplicate registrations, and individuals who have relocated, ensuring all actions conform to electoral regulations.
As part of the verification process, officials were asked to take note of VVIP and VIP voters. The Additional CEO made a public appeal to voters to extend their cooperation to field staff to help conclude the mapping exercise expeditiously.
According to progress reports shared during the meeting, the SIR voter mapping in the 63-Nampally Assembly constituency has achieved only 31.11 per cent completion to date. Citing this slow advancement, Venkateshwar Reddy instructed Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to accelerate work in line with daily benchmarks and the pre-approved action plan.
