Telangana Launches Electoral Roll Revision Exercise Across State

Hyderabad: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise for updating electoral rolls got underway across Telangana on Thursday, with the drive set to conclude on July 24. The initiative marks a systematic effort to revise the state's voter registration database.

Election officials commenced distribution of voter enumeration forms on the opening day of the exercise. The forms were handed over to Booth Level Agents (BLAs), who will work alongside Booth Level Officers (BLOs) throughout the revision period. BLOs will undertake household visits to provide voters with the necessary application forms.

Voters are required to complete their applications and hand them back to their respective BLAs. The collection process will take place two days after distribution. Each BLO has been directed to visit a minimum of 50 households daily within their assigned polling booth area.

The state's election administration has made provisions to assist citizens during the exercise. A toll-free helpline numbered 1950 has been set up for public inquiries and assistance. Residents can also lodge complaints through the same number if a BLO fails to visit their locality.

Language accessibility has been incorporated into the exercise design. Hyderabad district will receive application materials in English, while Telugu-language versions will be supplied to all remaining districts across the state.

The exercise encompasses all 3,38,26,448 registered voters in Telangana. Election officials have emphasized that all voters must complete their forms and submit them to the BLO before the July 24 deadline to ensure their records are updated in the revised electoral roll.
