Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration has assured that essential medicines will remain available across Telangana during the nationwide chemists' bandh scheduled for May 20.

This commitment followed discussions between the DCA and representatives of the Telangana chapter of the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists.

To maintain continuity of pharmaceutical services, hospital-based pharmacies will continue operations throughout the strike period. Additionally, district-level chemist associations are coordinating with Drug Inspectors to ensure emergency medications are supplied in areas where they may be required.

Major pharmacy chains, including Apollo Pharmacy and MedPlus, have been instructed to maintain their outlets during the bandh.

The administration has placed all field officers on heightened alert to monitor the situation closely. They have been tasked with addressing any shortages of medicines and attending to public complaints promptly.

Residents who encounter problems obtaining prescribed medications can reach out to their local Drugs Control officials. Contact information for these officials is accessible through the DCA's official website.
