Prominent Telangana leaders gathered to commemorate former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary, reflecting on his pivotal role in shaping modern India.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu laid floral wreaths at Veer Bhumi in New Delhi to mark the occasion. He characterised Rajiv Gandhi as a forward-thinking statesman who steered India into the modern technological age. According to Vikramarka, Rajiv Gandhi championed youth empowerment through voting rights expansion and pursued initiatives aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and fostering national progress.

Vikramarka further stated that Congress party members and supporters would remain committed to public welfare, drawing inspiration from the former Prime Minister's vision and principles.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also paid his respects, crediting Rajiv Gandhi with laying the groundwork for India's information technology sector. Prabhakar emphasised that Rajiv Gandhi demonstrated solidarity with economically disadvantaged sections of society while simultaneously establishing the infrastructure that would catalyse India's technology revolution.

Bhongir Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy highlighted Rajiv Gandhi's instrumental contributions to rural development programmes, telecommunications expansion, and Panchayati Raj institutional reforms. Kiran Kumar noted that undivided Andhra Pradesh experienced substantial developmental gains during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister.

The MP underscored that Rajiv Gandhi strengthened decentralisation efforts by establishing governance frameworks that empowered approximately 2.5 lakh local bodies throughout the nation. Kiran Kumar credited Rajiv Gandhi with pioneering India's telecommunications and technology sectors, transforming the lives of millions across the country.

Kiran Kumar also recalled the former Prime Minister's deep connections with people in undivided Andhra Pradesh, asserting that his vision for youth, agricultural communities, and rural development continues to motivate coming generations.
