Telangana to Finalise Universal Life Insurance Scheme Implementation

The Telangana administration is moving forward with plans to introduce the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevitha Bima Padhakam, a comprehensive life insurance initiative designed to extend Rs 5 lakh in coverage to all households across the state.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to hold an urgent Cabinet Sub-Committee session on Tuesday evening to work out the specifics of how the Bima Padhakam will be rolled out.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu will lead the committee proceedings. The group will also include Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu currently holds charge of the Finance, Planning, and Energy portfolios. Uttam Kumar Reddy manages Irrigation, Food and Civil Supplies. Sridhar Babu oversees IT, Industries, and Legislative Affairs, while Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy is responsible for Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations.
The committee gathering, scheduled for 5 pm on Tuesday, will bring together government representatives and relevant stakeholders to examine the framework needed for implementing the insurance programme statewide. Officials aim to finalise the operational procedures during this meeting to ensure a seamless launch of the scheme across Telangana.
