Telangana Government Extends Journalist Bus Pass Validity Through Mid-June

The Telangana administration has announced an extension of bus pass validity for working journalists across the state and district levels through June 16, 2026.
The Information and Public Relations Department communicated this decision to TGSRTC on May 29, marking the second extension within two months. In April, the department had already granted a one-month extension, pushing the expiration date to May 31, 2026.
Under the new directive, accreditation cards for journalists will also remain valid until the same date. The I&PR Department has instructed TGSRTC to maintain journalist bus pass access through June 16, 2026, and to disregard the expiration dates printed on physical accreditation cards when processing requests.
Special Commissioner Dr G. Mukunda Reddy issued the formal communication implementing these changes. The decision has been circulated to multiple stakeholders, including the Telangana Media Academy, Regional Joint Directors overseeing Multi Zone-I and Multi Zone-II jurisdictions, and District Public Relations Officers across the state to ensure coordinated implementation.
The extended benefits for both bus passes and accreditation cards will remain in effect until June 16, 2026.
