Modi to Inaugurate ₹9,400 Crore Infrastructure Initiatives Across Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a comprehensive package of infrastructure developments in Telangana on Sunday, with projects collectively valued at approximately ₹9,400 crore. The initiatives span multiple sectors including rail networks, roadways, industrial zones, textile manufacturing, healthcare and energy storage infrastructure.
Among the railway undertakings being dedicated, projects worth around ₹1,535 crore will be handed over to the nation. A significant component involves multiple stretches of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking initiative, extending across 118 kilometres. These railway enhancements are designed to bolster capacity along the Grand Trunk corridor, enabling quicker train services, alleviating traffic bottlenecks, enhancing on-time performance and facilitating greater freight volumes throughout the region.
The Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass venture will also receive dedication. This undertaking aims to reduce congestion at Kazipet Junction by permitting concurrent train movements toward Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada.
The highway expansion component features the four-laning of National Highway-167, extending from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar as part of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor. This project, requiring investment exceeding ₹3,175 crore, is anticipated to slash journey times by roughly 90 minutes while simultaneously decreasing fuel usage and upkeep expenditures for vehicles. The development will strengthen transportation links between Telangana and Karnataka while fostering commercial expansion in both regions.
The Zaheerabad Industrial Area, positioned in Sangareddy district under the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor framework, will have its foundation stone laid. Spanning 3,245 acres with a projected cost surpassing ₹2,350 crore, this industrial township sits adjacent to NH-65 and offers access through multiple transport modes to harbours, airfields, rail infrastructure and urban centres. Automobile manufacturing, machinery production, food processing, metallurgy and electrical appliances have been identified as priority sectors. The initiative is projected to draw approximately ₹10,000 crore in capital inflows and create substantial employment.
The PM MITRA Park at Warangal, formally titled the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and developed under the PM MITRA Scheme, will be inaugurated. Built at an estimated outlay of around ₹1,700 crore, this facility represents India's inaugural fully operational PM MITRA Park. The development aligns with the government's 5F framework encompassing Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. Positioned near the forthcoming Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and proximate to NH-163, the park enjoys connectivity to rail networks and maritime ports for textile commerce and movement of goods.
The Malkapur Terminal Project operated by Indian Oil in Hyderabad will be dedicated to the nation. This facility, constructed at a cost of more than ₹600 crore, maintains petroleum storage reserves totalling 1,65,000 kilolitres.
In healthcare infrastructure, Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad will be handed over to the nation. This cancer-specialised multi-super speciality medical centre houses 1,500 beds, 29 surgical suites and over 150 doctor consultation spaces. Occupying 2.1 million square feet across 18 storeys, the institution operates as a not-for-profit quaternary healthcare facility.
