Telangana Formation Day Celebrations Set for Grand Observance at Secunderabad Parade Grounds

Hyderabad: Preparations are underway for a major observance of Telangana Formation Day on June 2, with the state government directing all departments to ensure comprehensive arrangements at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
State Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj convened a coordination meeting at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat to review the progress of preparations. During the meeting, he outlined the schedule for the Chief Minister, who will first proceed to Gun Park to offer tributes at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial before joining the primary celebrations at Parade Grounds.
Vikas Raj instructed officials across departments to designate nodal officers who will liaise with counterparts to ensure seamless execution of the event. The Roads and Buildings Department will oversee the installation of weatherproof shamianas and barricades at the venue. Simultaneously, municipal authorities will focus on maintaining cleanliness around the grounds and setting up water stations for attendees.
Security arrangements have been prioritized, with police officials tasked with securing the routes that will be used by dignitaries attending the event. Traffic management personnel will implement a comprehensive route plan to regulate vehicle flow and prevent congestion in the vicinity of Parade Grounds. Adequate parking infrastructure will be established to accommodate visitors smoothly.
The power department has been directed to guarantee uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the event, with backup generators positioned at the venue. The cultural department will present artistic performances to enhance the festive ambiance of the celebrations.
Recognizing the importance of public engagement, the Information and Public Relations Department will broadcast the proceedings live to reach a wider audience across the state. Additionally, major landmarks across Hyderabad—including the Assembly, State Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhavan, and various government buildings—will be illuminated to mark the occasion.
Joint rehearsals involving all participating departments are scheduled to commence on May 25 at Parade Grounds to test coordination and identify any operational gaps.
Special Chief Secretaries Naveen Mittal and Shikha Goel attended the coordination meeting alongside Secretary Raghunandan Rao, DGP Mahesh Bhagwat, ADG Intelligence Vijay Kumar, TG Genco CMD Harish, Special Commissioner Mukunda Reddy, Water Board MD Ashok Reddy, and representatives from multiple state departments.
