Telangana Cancer Atlas Presented to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Leading oncologist and government advisor Dr Nori Dattatreyudu handed over the Telangana Cancer Atlas to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence in Jubilee Hills.
The presentation was attended by Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, CMO Principal Secretary Srinivasa Raju, and Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu.
The Chief Minister commended Dr Dattatreyudu for developing an exhaustive analysis of cancer incidence throughout Telangana. Revanth Reddy indicated that the Atlas would serve as a critical tool for the government to pinpoint vulnerable areas and investigate underlying factors contributing to the disease.
Screening Centres and Hospital Expansion
According to the Chief Minister, the Cancer Atlas will facilitate the creation of dedicated cancer screening facilities in impacted districts across Telangana. He further outlined intentions to broaden access to specialized cancer care by establishing additional cancer treatment hospitals outside the Hyderabad metropolitan area.
Revanth Reddy instructed state departments to bolster cancer care infrastructure available through the Aarogyasri health scheme.
Government representatives noted that the Atlas would enable more effective cancer identification and facilitate better treatment strategies throughout the state. The document is anticipated to guide policymakers in formulating region-specific healthcare initiatives in areas experiencing elevated cancer rates.
