Telangana Cabinet Approves Meals for Junior College Students, Allocates Funds for Godavari Pushkaralu, and Clears Job Positions

Hyderabad — The Telangana Cabinet has greenlit a series of significant decisions during a Saturday session presided over by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, spanning education subsidies, religious festival infrastructure, and employment generation across the state.
Among the key approvals was the expansion of meal schemes to junior colleges. The state government will now provide breakfast and milk to junior college students, bringing them under the same nutritional support framework previously limited to schoolchildren.
In a major infrastructure investment, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore for developmental activities related to the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu, a significant religious event. The government has released Rs 300 crore in the initial phase to commence preparatory works for the festival.
The employment front also saw positive movement. The Cabinet cleared recruitment for Gangadhara degree college in Karimnagar district, authorizing 20 permanent teaching positions and six permanent non-teaching roles. The institution will additionally receive sanction for three contractual posts.
In another employment-related decision, the Cabinet approved 18 positions for the K. Samudram fire station in Mahabubabad district. Officials indicated that these sanctioned positions would enhance the state's emergency response and firefighting capabilities in the region.
The Cabinet session addressed a range of matters encompassing educational initiatives, social welfare schemes, and infrastructure development, reflecting the government's multifaceted policy approach.
