Telangana Names Shivadhar Reddy as State Security Advisor Following Police Leadership Role

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has formally appointed Shivadhar Reddy to the position of State Security Advisor, a role he will hold for three years following his retirement from his position as Director General of Police.
In his new capacity, Reddy will provide counsel to the government across a range of security and administrative domains. These include police administration, maintenance of law and order, internal security matters, crime prevention, drug control operations, and road safety initiatives.
The appointment comes with the status and rank equivalent to that of Chief Secretary. Reddy will draw a monthly stipend of Rs 2.25 lakh for his services. The government has also made arrangements for his housing, offering either rent-free official accommodation or a monthly house rent allowance of Rs 50,000 as an alternative.
Travel and daily allowances that were applicable prior to his retirement will continue under the new arrangement. Additionally, Reddy will retain access to medical reimbursement benefits on par with officers of the All India Services cadre.
To support the advisor's office operations, the government has sanctioned a dedicated team comprising one Officer on Special Duty, one private secretary, one personal assistant, two drivers, and four support staff members. An official vehicle has also been allocated for official use.
All financial obligations arising from this appointment will be managed through the regular budget allocations of the Home Department. The government order was issued by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
