Swiggy Partners with Dinesh Karthik to Blend Cricket Viewing with Food Delivery This IPL Season
India's leading on-demand convenience platform Swiggy has unveiled a new partnership with veteran cricketer Dinesh Karthik as the IPL season captures national attention. The collaboration celebrates the deep connection between cricket enthusiasts and their dining choices on match days.
The centerpiece of the initiative is a comedic digital film featuring Karthik in unexpected scenarios that blend cricket with everyday family dining. In the creative, the cricketer assumes his wicketkeeper position while seated at a dining table, offering encouragement to family members passing dishes—complete with "stump mic" commentary reminiscent of match-day broadcasting. The film underscores how food and cricket have become inseparable elements of the Indian household experience.
Mayur Hola, Vice President of Brand at Swiggy, articulated the campaign's core message: "Life and cricket exist together for us. The boundaries between life and cricket dissolve entirely, with the sport woven into our very being. We breathe cricket, we consume cricket. This film communicates precisely that—Swiggy, which delivers your preferred meals, and cricket, which provides that thrilling entertainment, exist in tandem. The combination creates an unforgettable experience of enjoyment and satisfaction that is consistently accessible to enthusiasts."
Karthik elaborated on his involvement with the brand, stating: "Watching a match from home reaches its full potential only when accompanied by excellent food. I am proud to work with Swiggy, a platform that has become synonymous with match-day customs for countless households. Contributing to this film was genuinely rewarding, as it authentically portrays the infectious excitement of the game and translates it into the home environment. I trust audiences across the nation will find the same enjoyment in viewing it that we experienced during production."
The campaign was produced by Corcoise Films, with Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy serving as the director. Swiggy's initiative recognizes that for Indian audiences, ordering food has transitioned from an optional addition to an essential component of the match-viewing ritual.
