Suryapet District Sets Ambitious Zero-Accident Target Through Enhanced Industrial Safety Framework

Suryapet District Collector Tejas Nand Lal Pawar has committed the administration to achieving zero workplace accidents and establishing the district as a model industrial safety zone through enhanced preventive measures and integrated emergency management systems.
At a District Crisis Group meeting held Friday at the Suryapet Collectorate, Pawar emphasized that safeguarding worker welfare stands as a paramount concern for the administration. He called upon industrial facilities to strengthen their safety protocols and operational procedures to support this ambitious objective.
The high-level gathering examined current industrial safety standards, crisis readiness capabilities, and existing coordination frameworks between government agencies and manufacturing units.
Pawar instructed all Major Accident Hazard (MAH) classified industries operating in the district to promptly furnish their on-site emergency response plans to the administration. He underscored the critical importance of establishing robust coordination networks encompassing industrial operators, law enforcement, fire-fighting personnel, healthcare providers, and logistics departments.
Such integrated systems, Pawar noted, would enable rapid mobilization during critical incidents while simultaneously reducing hazard exposure and enhancing workforce protection measures.
The Collector made clear that regulatory violations and any actions undermining worker safety would face stringent enforcement action. He appealed to both administrative officials and industrial leadership to demonstrate shared commitment and collaborative responsibility in achieving the district's safety vision.
Pawar stressed that attaining zero-accident status requires sustained vigilance from all stakeholders and unwavering adherence to established safety standards across all industrial operations.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collector B. Hari Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Ravinder Reddy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories K.V. Sridevi, representatives from fire and transport departments, and senior management from multiple industrial enterprises.
