Congress Govt Merely Reacts to BRS Pressure, Says Opposition MLC

Hyderabad: Telangana's opposition continues to mount criticism against the state administration, with BRS MLC Sravan Dasoju asserting on Monday that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's government operates in reactive mode rather than pursuing independent governance.
Speaking to journalists in the city, Dasoju characterised the administration as a "reactionary government" that lacks proactive decision-making capacity. He contended that key policy moves have emerged only following pressure campaigns and protests orchestrated by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and its president K. Chandrashekar Rao.
The MLC pointed to several instances where government action followed BRS mobilisation efforts. These included the disbursement of Rythu Bharosa funds to farmers, expedited paddy procurement processes, and review meetings concerning the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project. According to Dasoju, each of these decisions materialised solely in response to opposition pressure rather than through independent administrative initiative.
"This is not governance. This is mediocre political panic management," Dasoju remarked, criticising what he described as the government's approach to managing public expectations.
Beyond specific policy decisions, the opposition leader levelled broader accusations against the Congress administration. He alleged that the government relies excessively on media management, publicity strategies, and diversionary political tactics instead of independently addressing citizen concerns with administrative rigour and strategic vision.
Specifically addressing the Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation initiative, Dasoju noted that the government remained inactive for an extended period. The administration only shifted into action, he claimed, after the BRS announced plans for a Padayatra highlighting the project's stalled status.
Dasoju underscored that despite occupying the opposition benches, the BRS maintains considerable influence over Telangana's political and governance landscape under K. Chandrashekar Rao's stewardship. He argued that the Congress government merely responds to opposition initiatives rather than formulating and executing independent policy frameworks.
