Southwest Monsoon Expected to Arrive in Telangana Early June, Four to Five Days Behind Schedule

Hyderabad — The India Meteorological Department has forecast that the southwest monsoon will make its entry into Telangana during the opening week of June, marking a delay of approximately four to five days compared to the previous year's timeline.
The weather service projects the monsoon system to reach Kerala's coastline on May 26, from which point it typically takes between four and seven days to penetrate into Telangana and surrounding regions.
Currently, the monsoon has already established presence across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, extending into portions of the Bay of Bengal and sections of the Arabian Sea. Meteorological officials indicate that atmospheric patterns continue to support the system's northward progression.
The postponed arrival may create some impact on the commencement of the state's seasonal rainfall patterns, according to weather department statements. Nevertheless, officials maintain that the monsoon advancement through southern portions of the country remains on a normal trajectory.
For Telangana's agricultural communities and general population, the southwest monsoon represents a critical period, bringing essential rainfall and replenishing water resources vital for farming operations and everyday water supply during the monsoon months.
Meteorological experts are maintaining vigilant observation of the system's movement and trajectory as the season draws closer. The IMD is anticipated to release periodic updates tracking the monsoon's progression and anticipated rainfall distribution across the state.
