Smarten Power Systems Unveils HELIX 1100-1250 MPPT Solar PCU Series

New Delhi — Smarten Power Systems has rolled out the latest iteration of its MPPT Solar PCU lineup, the HELIX 1100-1250 series, marking the company's eighth generation of products in this category. The Indian solar and power backup solutions provider is targeting residential and commercial segments with this new offering, which will be available nationwide starting at ₹5,350.
The dual-model lineup comprises the HELIX 1100 and HELIX 1250, both built on 12V architecture but engineered to meet different capacity demands. The entry-level HELIX 1100 accommodates up to 600W of solar panel input, while the HELIX 1250 extends this capability to 1200W, catering to installations requiring higher solar energy harvesting. Both units leverage MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology to achieve superior solar conversion efficiency compared to traditional PWM-based alternatives.
A standout feature of the HELIX platform is its compatibility with 24V solar panels despite operating on a 12V system foundation. This design choice enables significant cost savings during installation, as 24V panels are increasingly economical and prevalent in contemporary solar setups. The approach balances affordability with system performance, delivering an accessible entry point for cost-conscious consumers.
Both models feature pure sine wave output, ensuring stable, clean power delivery to sensitive household equipment. The system switches to UPS mode with a changeover time below 10 milliseconds, maintaining uninterrupted power supply during grid disruptions. Additionally, WUPS mode provides flexible backup switching tailored to varying load profiles.
The HELIX series incorporates sophisticated solar-grid-battery power management logic that intelligently routes energy between available sources. The system prioritizes solar generation by default, maximizing on-site consumption of produced power. When solar output falls short, the system automatically engages grid support. Battery state-of-charge (SOC) controls further refine this operation, managing grid connection and disconnection thresholds to protect battery longevity.
Rajnish Sharma, Whole Time Director and CEO of Smarten, highlighted the product's positioning: "The real obstacle for solar customers extends beyond simple adoption—it encompasses achieving dependable operation while managing installation expenses, technical complications, and conversion losses when transitioning between solar, grid, and battery resources. HELIX tackles these challenges head-on by combining advanced MPPT capabilities, intelligent power distribution, and 24V panel support in a straightforward wall-mounted configuration. This enables customers to lower initial investment, improve solar output utilization, and guarantee dependable backup without excessive grid reliance. We aim to position solar energy not merely as accessible, but as genuinely effective and economically rewarding for ordinary households and rural populations."
The HELIX 1100 and 1250 accommodate Li-ion, SMF, and tubular battery chemistries, with specialized lithium charging protocols optimizing performance with contemporary battery storage. The units incorporate deep discharge recovery technology to prolong battery lifespan and enhance overall system durability. A graphical LCD interface displays real-time metrics including input voltage, output consumption, battery condition, charging flow, and operational mode. The system alerts users to overload, short circuit, thermal irregularities, wiring problems, and other significant faults for enhanced safety.
Protection mechanisms span multiple layers, encompassing tiered overload shutdown, reverse battery safeguards, thermal cutoff above 100°C, backfeed prevention, and electronic phase-to-phase safety circuits. These protections operate alongside robust electrical isolation and leakage containment systems designed for field durability.
The company anticipates robust market reception from both distribution partners and end-customers, supported by its growing solar infrastructure and comprehensive distribution presence across India.
