Six years have elapsed since Irrfan Khan's passing, yet his presence continues to resonate profoundly among those who worked alongside him and the countless admirers who followed his career. On the anniversary of his death, actress Sheena Chohan marked the occasion by sharing a poignant recollection from her past.

Through an Instagram post, Sheena revealed a treasured photograph taken at an international film festival featuring herself and Irrfan Khan. The image captures an understated but touching moment—two performers positioned together, their smiles genuine and relaxed, conveying an unspoken bond that has only grown more significant with time.

In her accompanying message, Sheena wrote: "6 years today. Miss you Irrfan sir. You are forever an inspiration—as an artist who created such unforgettable characters, as a true professional, and as someone who remained a blank page for his directors. Remembering you today brings back the stillness, the magic, and the timeless echo of the iconic characters he brought to life.. #IrrfanKhan."

For Sheena, the photograph represented far more than a casual snapshot. It embodied a memory that fundamentally influenced her artistic journey. She describes how his demeanor was serene, anchoring, and deeply motivating. Even a fleeting exchange with him left an indelible impression.

Elaborating on that encounter, she reflected: "Irrfan Khan has always been a quiet masterclass for me—an actor who dissolves so completely into his characters with truth, depth, and a theatre-rooted craft I deeply admire. Growing up on his work, he became one of my greatest inspirations, so even a brief meeting with him at an international film festival felt surreal. He spoke about how much he loved the international film Ant Story and my performance in it, as the troubled star I played and mentioned that he would be working next with my international director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki—with whom he later collaborated on No Bed of Roses. Knowing that our work had reached and moved him in that way made it feel like a beautiful full-circle moment. Remembering him today brings back that stillness, that magic, and a deep sense of nostalgia."

To this day, those within the film community and beyond continue to honour his legacy through the body of work he left behind, the depth of his performances, and personal recollections such as these. His contributions to cinema remain an enduring wellspring of inspiration for successive generations of artists.

Sheena's post serves as more than a simple commemoration—it stands as a testament to an artist whose influence extended through both his craft and his character, touching countless lives through the roles he inhabited and the humanity he demonstrated throughout his career.
