She Team Malkajgiri Raises Awareness on Safety and Crime Prevention at Neredmet

Hyderabad's She Team Malkajgiri recently organised an awareness initiative at Vishal Mega Mart in Neredmet, operating under the jurisdiction of Neredmet police station.

During the session, team members outlined the role and responsibilities of She Teams and presented relevant case studies to illustrate key safety concerns. The programme addressed multiple pressing issues including cybercrime, fraudulent loan applications, and human trafficking, while also directing participants to available counselling facilities.

A significant portion of the initiative centred on gender sensitisation and safeguarding measures. Officials emphasised the critical role of CCTV surveillance systems in crime prevention and highlighted efforts to combat child marriage. The team further educated attendees about child abuse prevention, anti-ragging protocols, and the legal framework provided by the Juvenile Justice Act.

Participants also learned about the T-Safe App, a tool designed to enhance personal safety, and received guidance on recognising inappropriate physical contact through the "good touch and bad touch" framework.

In terms of emergency response, police reminded the community to contact emergency services by dialling 100. For non-emergency assistance and queries specific to the Malkajgiri area, residents can reach out via WhatsApp at 8712662111.
