Telangana Government Distributes Sewing Machines and Relief Funds in Nizamabad

Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday inaugurated two welfare initiatives in Nizamabad, underscoring the Telangana government's dedication to supporting minority communities and economically disadvantaged families.

The first programme, held at the NAC Centre in Nizamabad, saw the distribution of sewing machines to eligible women from minority backgrounds through the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation. The scheme aims to foster self-employment and strengthen economic autonomy among minority women entrepreneurs.

The distribution encompasses 1,700 sewing machines across Nizamabad district, with a total investment of ₹1.02 crore. Within the Nizamabad Urban Assembly constituency alone, 500 machines were allocated to qualifying beneficiaries.

Shabbir Ali highlighted the Congress government's broader agenda encompassing education, employment, self-employment and skill development programmes tailored for minority communities. He encouraged the recipients to leverage the sewing machines to launch small-scale enterprises and generate employment for others in their communities.

The adviser emphasised the government's commitment to ensuring welfare benefits reach deserving recipients through transparent and accountable processes, without intermediaries or additional costs.

The second event, held later at the R&B Guest House, involved the presentation of Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques to eligible beneficiaries. Shabbir Ali characterised the CMRF as a vital safety net for families confronting financial crises stemming from medical emergencies, accidents and other unforeseen hardships.

A total of 42 beneficiaries representing various divisions of Nizamabad town received CMRF support amounting to ₹28 lakh. The adviser reaffirmed the government's resolve to ensure comprehensive coverage of eligible individuals under the scheme and pledged continued efforts to facilitate assistance for those requiring expensive medical interventions.

Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, NUDA Chairman Keshavenu, various public representatives, Congress party officials and the beneficiaries attended both programmes.
