Hyderabad: Following a destructive fire in Kamareddy town, Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir Ali unveiled a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation programme for the affected business community on Tuesday.

The fire incident, triggered by an electrical short circuit, occurred on Sunday night in the old bus stand area along Sirisilla Road. The blaze consumed 22 shops operated by 20 traders, resulting in estimated losses of approximately Rs 35 lakh.

Shabbir Ali toured the affected area to assess the extent of the damage firsthand. As an immediate measure, he distributed Rs 8,000 to each of the 20 impacted traders. He subsequently assured the business owners that the government would pursue comprehensive rehabilitation efforts for their long-term recovery.

The advisor instructed the District Collector, Revenue Divisional Officer, and relevant departments to coordinate efforts and provide sustained assistance to the traders. He underscored the government's commitment to ensuring proper support through systematic departmental collaboration.

Municipal Chairman Ippa Umarani Srinivas and former DCC president Kailas Srinivas accompanied Shabbir Ali during the inspection.

In a separate engagement the same day, Shabbir Ali participated in the Indiramma Saree Distribution Programme at a fair price shop in Kamareddy, where he distributed sarees to eligible beneficiaries under the state welfare initiative.

During his address at the programme, he emphasised the Congress government's dedication to poverty alleviation and social welfare. He outlined various schemes designed to enhance family welfare and raise living standards across communities.

Shabbir Ali elaborated on the significance of programmes such as Indiramma Sarees, which he described as extending beyond basic clothing provision to ensure women's dignity and social standing. He also referenced other government initiatives including Indiramma housing projects, 2BHK residential schemes, pension programmes, and agricultural support measures.

He announced that developmental projects across Kamareddy district would be expedited in the coming period. The event drew participation from elected representatives, government officials, party functionaries, and community members.

During the occasion, Ankam Krishna Rao was announced as the newly appointed Congress Mandal President for Rajampet mandal. He subsequently met with Shabbir Ali to express his appreciation for the appointment.

Former president Yadava Reddy, along with senior party leaders Veeranna and Besta Chandram, were present at the programme.
