District Minister and Government Advisor Promote Child Safety in Kamareddy Initiative

Hyderabad: A child safety awareness programme held in Kamareddy district brought together District In-charge Minister Seethakka and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, alongside officials, elected representatives, students and community members.
The event was organised under the 99-day Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika initiative, concentrating on critical issues affecting young people. Key topics included drug abuse prevention, elimination of child marriages, addressing teenage pregnancies and locating missing children.
Authorities used the platform to educate participants on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of preventing early marriages and pregnancies. The programme also emphasised protection strategies for vulnerable children.
Recognition and support were extended to children residing in care institutions through certificate distribution. Additionally, bicycles were distributed to girls as part of the awareness drive.
During his remarks, Mohammed Ali Shabbir underscored the government's commitment to prioritising child protection. He stressed that every household must embrace responsibility to foster societal transformation.
Shabbir Ali urged the expansion of child safety awareness initiatives to combat drug addiction among youth. He noted that rigorous legal measures were being enforced to address child marriages and teenage pregnancies. He further emphasised the importance of disseminating information on these matters across all segments of society.
Assurances were provided that the government would enhance support systems for children in institutional care, enabling them to develop into contributing members of their communities.
The event drew attendance from Women Welfare Secretary Anita Ramachandran, District Collector Ashish Sangwan, Additional Collectors Victor and Madhu Mohan, Municipal Chairperson Uma Rani and Library Chairman Maddichandra Kanth. Child welfare personnel, students and residents also participated in the programme.
