South Central Railway Honors 13 Staff Members for Railway Safety Excellence

Hyderabad: On April 27, South Central Railway's General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava distributed Employee of the Month awards to 13 staff members at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad, recognizing their vigilance in maintaining railway safety standards.
The awards ceremony, held during a review meeting, celebrated frontline workers who identified and prevented hazardous situations affecting train operations. The initiative underscored the railway zone's commitment to operational safety and continuous vigilance.
The honored employees represented diverse roles across the organization, including track maintenance personnel, pointsmen, technicians, train managers, station masters, and locomotive pilots. Their recognition emphasized qualities including alertness, dependability, and professional commitment.
The awardees were distributed across divisions as follows: Vijayawada division received the highest recognition with seven recipients, Secunderabad division with three, Guntakal division with two, and Guntur division with one.
Additional General Manager Satya Prakash participated in the meeting alongside senior departmental officials. Divisional Railway Managers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded divisions attended via video conference.
Addressing the honorees, General Manager Srivastava noted that such recognition would inspire continued commitment to safety and the maintenance of high operational standards across the railway network.
The meeting also addressed seasonal operational challenges. Srivastava emphasized the need for preventive measures to ensure safe operations during the intense summer months, instructing officials to reinforce track infrastructure capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and maintaining consistent service delivery.
The General Manager directed that track inspections be conducted regularly, with particular attention to ballast maintenance and track stability. He also mandated comprehensive fire risk assessments and implementation of preventive measures to reduce fire-related incidents in rolling stock.
Srivastava stressed that safety protocols cannot be compromised under any circumstances. He instructed officials to enhance staff awareness regarding safety procedures, upgrade fire prevention systems, conduct thorough inspections of points and crossings, and ensure proper removal of construction debris from track areas upon project completion.
