Saudi Arabia Rolls Out Integrated "Package Visa" to Streamline Tourist Travel

July 7, 2026

Saudi Arabia has unveiled Package Visa, a new digital system that merges tourist visa applications with travel bookings in a single streamlined process. The programme is being piloted through accredited travel and tourism operators in select international markets, with plans for wider expansion to follow.

The move represents part of Saudi Arabia's broader push to remove barriers to tourism. Following the introduction of the tourist e-Visa system, the kingdom has progressively added visa on arrival and the Stopover Transit Visa options. These measures have contributed to robust tourism growth, with the country receiving over 29 million international visitors during 2025.

Ahmed Al Khateeb, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Tourism, stated: "As Saudi's tourism sector continues to grow at pace, Package Visa reflects our commitment to making travel to Saudi more seamless for visitors. By integrating visa issuance with travel bookings, we are simplifying the visitor journey and creating a more connected travel experience. This initiative also strengthens collaboration across the tourism ecosystem and supports Saudi's position as an increasingly accessible global destination."

The system simplifies the traveller experience by consolidating what would typically be separate transactions. Rather than booking flights, accommodation, and visa independently, qualifying travellers can now arrange everything through a unified platform, with the ability to incorporate activities, events, and other tourism experiences within the same booking.

Travel and tourism operators benefit as well, gaining the capacity to construct more compelling packages, streamline customer journeys, and encourage extended stays and more immersive travel experiences.

Package Visa operates exclusively through accredited travel and tourism service providers that meet specified operational standards and furnish round-the-clock customer assistance. As Saudi Arabia continues developing its tourism infrastructure, this initiative signals continued progress in making travel to the country more convenient and integrated for international visitors.
