Sangareddy Dispute Over Motorcycle Ends in Tragedy as Woman Killed, Husband Takes Own Life

A domestic dispute centred on a motorcycle purchase has culminated in tragedy in Sangareddy district, with the death of a young couple in circumstances that have shocked the community.
The incident unfolded in Marepalli village, located within Kondapur mandal. The deceased have been identified as Dasari Anjaiah, 25 years old, and his wife Yadamma, aged 20.
According to law enforcement officials, the couple had been married for approximately 11 months. Following their wedding, Anjaiah took on a lease for a mango orchard situated near Marepalli, where the pair settled while engaging in the sale of mangoes.
Investigators revealed that tensions had been mounting between husband and wife over Anjaiah's persistent demands that Yadamma's family purchase him a two-wheeler. Police records also indicate that Anjaiah struggled with alcohol dependency.
On the morning of the incident, Yadamma's mother-in-law departed for Sadasivpet to conduct mango sales, leaving the young couple at their residence. During this period, another heated altercation erupted between them.
In what police describe as a moment of uncontrolled anger, Anjaiah allegedly used a scarf to strangle his wife inside their home, resulting in her death. Fearing the legal consequences that would follow his actions, he subsequently moved away from the dwelling.
At a short distance from the residence, Anjaiah took his own life by hanging himself from one of the mango trees on the property.
Authorities arrived at the location following notification of the tragedy and proceeded to document the scene. A formal investigation was initiated following a report filed by Yadamma's father, Sailu, with police registering the case and beginning their inquiries into the matter.
