Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case Adjourned to July 6 by Nampally Court

Hyderabad's Nampally Criminal Court has postponed proceedings in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to July 6, following a hearing held on Monday.

During the court session, submissions were received from the accused parties and their legal representatives. Actor Allu Arjun, who is designated as accused number 11 in the case, participated remotely via video conference from Mumbai. The court had previously issued a summons for his appearance but granted permission for virtual participation citing his existing work commitments in the city.

The remaining accused individuals were physically present in the courtroom during the proceedings.

Allu Arjun's legal team informed the bench that the actor would likely continue to appear through video conference for the subsequent hearing as well. The court subsequently scheduled the next hearing date for July 6.

The case centres on a tragic stampede that unfolded outside Sandhya Theatre during the premiere screening of the film Pushpa 2 in December 2024. The incident resulted in one death, with numerous individuals sustaining injuries from the crush. The court is expected to continue examining the matter on the newly assigned date.
