GURUGRAM, India – Samsung has unveiled an integrated residential climate management system designed to tackle the specific environmental and comfort challenges faced by urban homeowners across India. The solution brings together WindFree cooling technology, PM1.0 air purification, SmartThings smart home integration, and artificial intelligence-driven VRF systems into a unified platform.

The announcement comes as Indian cities grapple with rising temperatures and deteriorating air quality. Samsung's ecosystem targets three core consumer concerns: maintaining consistent indoor comfort, ensuring healthy air quality, and optimizing energy consumption through intelligent technology.

"Our approach starts with listening to what homeowners actually need," explained Vipin Agrawal, Head of SAC Business at Samsung India. "Today's buyers want more than just cooling—they're seeking healthier air, smart home features, energy management and superior comfort. Our WindFree solutions are customized for local conditions and bundle these elements into one integrated platform that distinguishes Samsung in the market."

The company has partnered with Central Park Flower Valley's The Orchard residential development in Gurugram to demonstrate the technology at scale, deploying the system across 284 luxury residences with combined capacity of 4,864 HP.

Addressing the "Summer Cold" Problem

A common complaint with traditional air conditioning involves continued exposure to cold air streams even after rooms reach the desired temperature. Samsung's WindFree technology tackles this by releasing cooled air through 10,000 microscopic apertures, creating a "Still Air" environment with minimal air velocity. This approach maintains thermal comfort while eliminating the uncomfortable sensation of direct cold drafts—a particular advantage for extended nighttime use and family spaces where consistent comfort matters.

Improving Indoor Air Quality

Delhi NCR and surrounding regions frequently experience hazardous air quality levels, making indoor air purity a growing priority for residents. Samsung's WindFree 1 Way Cassette air conditioning units can incorporate an optional PM1.0 purification module with dual-stage filtration. A pre-filter handles larger dust and fiber particles, while the PM1.0 filter captures ultrafine particles measuring 0.3 microns or smaller. The system employs electrostatic precipitator technology to sterilize up to 99% of bacteria trapped in the filter, with effectiveness verified by Intertek. This integrated approach eliminates the need for separate standalone purification devices.

Connected Smart Home Management

Recognizing that modern homebuyers expect seamless smart home integration, Samsung's SmartThings ecosystem enables comprehensive climate control through connected devices. Users can remotely access and manage indoor units via smartphone applications, activate voice commands through Bixby and other compatible voice assistants, set up automated cooling based on location data, and track energy consumption patterns. The system also works alongside other smart appliances, enabling a more cohesive and personalized home experience.

AI-Powered Efficiency Optimization

The installation utilizes Samsung's DVM S2 VRF outdoor units equipped with advanced AI optimization capabilities. Active AI Pressure Control continuously evaluates ambient temperature, pipe distances, and cooling patterns to dynamically adjust refrigerant pressure, with fine-tuning capability of up to 32% that can reduce energy consumption by as much as 15%.

The system learns user cooling habits and environmental conditions to proactively enhance performance, including accelerated cooling when established usage patterns are recognized. Additionally, Active AI Refrigerant Analysis employs machine learning to continuously track refrigerant levels and notify service professionals of any irregularities, helping preserve system efficiency and dependability.

Large-Scale Implementation

The Orchard deployment represents one of India's largest premium residential installations of this integrated technology. Each of the 284 residences features Samsung WindFree 1 Way Cassette indoor units with integrated PM1.0 purification and Wi-Fi-connected SmartThings capability, all supported by Samsung's AI-enabled DVM S2 outdoor systems.

This implementation serves as a model for future residential infrastructure development, demonstrating how intelligent climate management, connected living capabilities, wellness-oriented technologies, and energy efficiency can work together to create modern, healthier homes suited to contemporary India.
