Hyderabad Police Chief Urges Vehicle Owners to Update Contact Information on VAHAN Portal

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has called on vehicle owners to keep their contact information current on the VAHAN portal, emphasizing the importance of maintaining updated mobile numbers and email addresses to receive traffic violation e-challans and other critical communications.

According to the Police Commissioner, registered vehicle owners can receive notifications regarding traffic offences, official notices, and vehicle-related information through multiple channels including SMS, WhatsApp, and email. He stressed that maintaining accurate contact details enables vehicle owners to stay properly informed and helps them sidestep penalties that may result from missing important notifications.

Updating contact information on the VAHAN portal is a straightforward process that can be completed online, either directly through the portal or by scanning QR codes provided by authorities. The Commissioner advised all motorists to verify and refresh their registered contact details at their earliest convenience.

Sajjanar highlighted that timely updates are essential for maintaining seamless communication between traffic authorities and vehicle owners. Under prevailing government regulations, e-challans transmitted to the registered mobile number or email address are considered officially delivered to the vehicle owner.
