Hyderabad: Representatives from the RTC Joint Action Committee gathered with State Labour Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy at his residence on April 26 to acknowledge recent government initiatives aimed at resolving longstanding concerns affecting RTC workers.

During the meeting, JAC leaders felicitated the Minister and conveyed their gratitude for the latest policy measures impacting RTC employees.

Government Actions Address Worker Concerns

The union representatives highlighted three significant developments. First, they noted the government's integration of RTC into the state administration—a move they characterized as fulfilling a demand that had persisted for years and as instrumental in strengthening job security for workers.

Second, the leaders welcomed the decision to hold recognition union elections, viewing this as an important step toward enhancing employee representation within the organization. Third, they expressed appreciation for the announcement of an 11 percent Pay Revision Commission specifically for RTC personnel.

Union delegates Venkanna, Thomas Reddy, Ashwaddhama Reddy, and Hanumanthu Mudiraj participated in conveying the committee's appreciation to the administration.

Implications for Public Transport

The JAC leaders emphasized that these policy shifts would strengthen Telangana's public transport infrastructure. They called on employees to approach their work with renewed dedication following these changes, noting that heightened employee morale would translate into enhanced service quality and improved operational performance in the transport sector.
