TSRTC Conductor Faces Criminal Case After Attacking Inspection Officials in Sangareddy

A conductor with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has been booked for attacking enforcement officials during an inspection in Sangareddy, triggering both criminal proceedings and internal disciplinary measures.

The incident unfolded on Friday morning around 8:30 am when Devsoth Vasanth, the conductor in question, was found to have collected ₹20 from a passenger without providing a ticket while working on the Zaheerabad–Narayankhed route. When inspectors from the enforcement squad moved to issue a charge memo, the situation escalated.

The conductor allegedly stirred up unrest among passengers and resisted the inspection process. During the confrontation, he struck the officials with his slipper and seized official documents to hamper the proceedings. The altercation left two inspectors injured—In-charge TTI Peddadoddi Yesaiah and TTI V. Prakash.

The case was subsequently registered at Raikode Police Station under Section 121(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities have initiated action against the conductor and indicated that departmental proceedings are underway.

Y. Nagireddy, commenting on the incident, stated that such assaults on personnel executing their official responsibilities would not be permitted. He cautioned that legal consequences would follow for those engaged in such conduct and stressed the importance of discipline and cooperation among employees to maintain a harmonious workplace.
