Hyderabad: The 19th phase of the Rozgar Mela employment scheme took shape at Rail Kalarang in Secunderabad on Saturday, with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy handing over appointment letters to 218 newly selected candidates across six Central Government departments. The event marked part of a coordinated national recruitment push, with 47 locations simultaneously processing nearly 51,000 appointment letters across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the newly recruited employees through virtual address, characterizing the moment as a watershed for India's young workforce. He noted that those joining Railways, Banking, Defence, Health and Education sectors were now integral to India's path toward becoming a "Viksit Bharat." Modi underscored that government positions carry dual responsibility—to family and to the broader nation—and encouraged the recruits to uphold ethical standards while leveraging professional development tools like iGOT Karmayogi.

Since its launch in 2022, the Rozgar Mela has placed lakhs of young people into Central Government positions, according to Kishan Reddy. The minister emphasized that the Centre is systematically addressing vacancies across government bodies and Public Sector Undertakings to expand employment avenues. He also noted a significant shift in India's employment landscape, with increasing numbers of youth transitioning from job-seeking to entrepreneurship, supported by initiatives like Make in India that are generating opportunities particularly within manufacturing.

During his recent international engagements across five nations, Modi observed mounting global attention toward India's technological and economic trajectory. He identified semiconductors, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, green technology and critical minerals as emerging sectors creating fresh pathways for Indian professionals.

Kishan Reddy congratulated the appointees, framing government service as a two to three-decade opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the nation. He called upon them to approach their roles with commitment and conscientiousness while honoring their parents' sacrifices.

The event drew participation from senior railway officials, including South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Principal Chief Personnel Officer Siddharth Kati and Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan. Srivastava characterized the Rozgar Mela as a pivotal occasion for youth entering government service.
