CM Revanth Reddy Issues Strong Warning to Congress Leaders Over SIR Campaign Execution

Hyderabad: In a sharp rebuke to party cadre, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued a stern warning to Congress leaders across Telangana, threatening action against those who do not adhere to party directives regarding the SIR campaign.

Speaking during a Zoom conference focused on the campaign, the Chief Minister characterised the matter as critically important and called upon ministers, MLAs, MPs and district-level party coordinators to demonstrate heightened commitment. He expressed concern that certain leaders were not dedicating sufficient effort to the initiative and made clear that the party would respond firmly if such lapses compromised its standing.

Revanth Reddy indicated possession of district-level data documenting awareness-building efforts undertaken by party workers and appealed for intensified mobilisation activities throughout the state. He tasked supervising ministers with greater accountability to ensure the campaign's message reaches citizens effectively.

Consequences for Non-Compliance

The Chief Minister underscored that mismanagement of the SIR campaign could inflict real hardship on economically disadvantaged citizens. He pointed out that if eligible individuals were removed from voter rolls, they could face complications accessing Aadhaar cards, ration cards and state welfare entitlements.

Revanth Reddy reiterated that all party functionaries must comply with organisational guidelines. He cautioned that leaders who disregard campaign-related instructions risk being removed from their current positions and replaced. Those displaying inattention to their responsibilities would face consequences, he said, adding that the party would assess leader performance over a ten-day period.

The Chief Minister further directed party representatives, including village-level sarpanches, to conduct community education programmes highlighting the significance of the SIR campaign and its implications for local populations.
