Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Pushes Centre for Metro Phase-I Takeover and Phase-II Green Light

Hyderabad Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has appealed to the Union government to accelerate the handover of Hyderabad Metro's Phase-I operations and clear the way for Phase-II expansion. The Chief Minister dispatched communications to Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday, pressing both issues.
Revanth Reddy framed his request as a follow-up to discussions conducted on June 24 involving the two Union Ministers and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, where deliberations centred on securing Phase-II approval and assuming control of the current Phase-I infrastructure.
The Chief Minister cautioned that postponing these critical moves has introduced operational uncertainty into Phase-I's functioning. He further flagged that prolonged delays in greenlighting the Detailed Project Report for Phase-II and securing necessary financing could stretch the project schedule and inflate overall expenditure.
SBI CAPS Assessment Needs Acceleration
Revanth Reddy has called for faster progress on the task assigned to SBI CAPS, urging the Centre to complete and transmit the Terms of Reference to Telangana authorities at the earliest. He stressed that swift completion of these procedural steps would facilitate implementation of commitments made during the June 24 discussions, thereby enabling rapid resolution of the Phase-I takeover and timely commencement of Phase-II operations.
