Hyderabad: At an event held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre on Sunday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made an urgent appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accelerate clearances for multiple infrastructure initiatives pending Central government approval.

During his address, Revanth Reddy requested that the Prime Minister convene a dedicated review session to examine Telangana's stalled proposals. He specifically sought a two-hour window for focused discussions on securing approvals for major development undertakings.

The Chief Minister noted that he had previously engaged with various Union Ministers and the Prime Minister himself on multiple occasions to push forward approvals for critical state projects.

Infrastructure backlog awaiting Central nod

Revanth Reddy highlighted several key initiatives caught in the approval pipeline. These include the Musi river rejuvenation scheme, expansion of Metro Rail networks, and the development of radial road infrastructure. He also drew attention to plans for a 12-lane expressway linking Hyderabad with Machilipatnam.

Appealing for the Prime Minister's intervention, the Chief Minister stressed the need for quicker approvals to propel Telangana's development trajectory forward.

Drawing a historical parallel, Revanth Reddy recalled that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had championed Gujarat's development model during Modi's tenure as Chief Minister of that state. He urged Modi to provide comparable backing for Telangana's growth over the coming decade.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Telangana's citizens anticipated the Prime Minister would greenlight all outstanding development initiatives for the state. He also commended Modi's "Viksit Bharat 2047" vision aimed at establishing India as a developed nation.

Telangana's growth roadmap

Revanth Reddy outlined how Telangana has synchronized its "Telangana Rising" developmental agenda with India's broader growth objectives.

The state aspires to achieve a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2034, followed by a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047, according to the Chief Minister. He underscored that despite representing less than three percent of India's population, Telangana contributes nearly five percent to national GDP.

The state has set an ambitious goal to raise its share of national GDP to 10 percent by 2047, Revanth Reddy added. He emphasized that the government is committed to positioning Telangana among the nation's highest-performing states.

Characterizing the Prime Minister's visit as a "celebration of development," Revanth Reddy was joined at the programme by Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
