Hyderabad: Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to inaugurate the next phase of the state's major housing initiative on Monday, furthering the government's commitment to providing shelter for lower-income households.

The Chief Minister's schedule includes a visit to Kumram Bheem-Asifabad district where he will engage with residents and unveil the expanded programme. The visit marks a significant milestone as the housing scheme moves into its second stage of implementation.

In Kothaguda, Revanth Reddy will participate alongside residents in a collective house inauguration ceremony, welcoming families into homes completed during the first phase of the project.

Following this, the Chief Minister will travel to Kagaznagar X-Roads where he will deliver remarks at a public gathering and formally unveil Phase-II of the housing programme.

District administration has undertaken comprehensive preparations ahead of the Chief Minister's arrival. Jupally Krishna Rao, the minister overseeing Adilabad district, travelled to Kagaznagar on Sunday to monitor readiness for the event. The minister travelled via the Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad and used the journey to assess passenger facilities before reviewing on-ground arrangements.

Among Krishna Rao's inspection priorities are the venue for the public gathering, parking infrastructure, helipad operations, and stage setup. A coordination meeting with district-level officials is planned to evaluate overall preparedness for the occasion.

The initial phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme resulted in construction of 4.5 lakh residences throughout the state. The government now intends to construct an additional 2.5 lakh homes as part of the second phase expansion.

Government representatives emphasised that positioning the launch in Kumram Bheem-Asifabad district reflects the administration's priority of ensuring permanent housing solutions for economically vulnerable populations. They noted that the scheme seeks to enhance quality of life and broaden housing availability across Telangana.
